Challenge
"We have been thinking about how we can not only save electricity, but also achieve a lot in terms of the environment. For everything to fit, the "gray energy" and everything around it must also be taken into account. When we were offered the opportunity with the climate-neutral luminaire, we naturally took it. This rounds off the whole project well and makes it even more meaningful."
Roland Oeschger, former local councilor and project manager Münchwilen
Solution
Luminaires
A major concern during the refurbishment was not only to illuminate efficiently, but also with consideration for the environment and local residents. Therefore, the light color 3000 K is used in Münchwilen - a good compromise between energy-efficient and environmentally friendly. To minimize glare from residential buildings, luminaires with backlight grids are used in the neighborhoods. In addition, all CO2 emissions from the Luma luminaires were offset.
Lighting control
With the Eagle Eye motion-dependent control system , the lights can also be dimmed down to a minimum at night. However, as soon as vehicles or pedestrians are detected by the radar sensors, the street lighting dims up in advance, as can be clearly seen in the video recording.
