Extension and Conversion of Wyden Residence (Rhyboot Association), Balgach - BKP 452 Renovation of…
Renovation of Sewer Lines. Today, the building complex consists of the residential wing with various extensions and the separate workshop building to the north. In between, there is a connecting building. The workshops will be preserved, with partial, structural interventions. The connecting building and the residential building will be completely replaced. The new building will present itself as an inviting, functional building; with a pitched roof and in solid construction. The basement includes, in addition to technical, storage, and changing rooms, primarily areas for the garden and laundry. On the ground floor are administrative, meeting, therapy, and common rooms, as well as the production kitchen. The dining hall can be subdivided using partition walls, allowing the space to be used for different needs and offering high flexibility. In the single-story connecting wing between the existing workshop building and the new residence, the reception is located. A multi-functionally usable common room and general toilet facilities will also be accommodated here. Particularly noteworthy is the direct access from the common room to the courtyard. A terrace is planned on the connecting building. The two upper floors each have two residential groups. A total of 20 rooms are available for residents. They will be equipped with the necessary sanitary infrastructure. Some of the rooms will be furnished for medical care. The heating for the entire building complex is provided by the already thoroughly renovated wood chip heating system. The entire building technology is based on low-tech principles. Primary ventilation is classically achieved through natural window ventilation. A photovoltaic system on the main roof serves for self-power supply. The building envelope meets the requirements of Minergie. The four residential groups are flexibly designed to meet different needs: autistic individuals, people with dementia, palliative care, and elderly individuals.
